The world's most famous sentence.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him should not perish
but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)
The reason this is arguably the world's most well-known sentence is because it is the best known line in the best-selling book of all time – the Bible. It has been called “the Bible in a nutshell” because it plainly gives us God’s basic message. The sentence contains only twenty-five words (in our English translation). The first twelve have to do with God; the last twelve are about us; and the middle word is the “Son.”
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved” (Acts 16:31).
Our goal in ministry and life is to point the unsaved toward the love of God. He loves you regardless of where you just came from, what you just said or did or how many times you committed your sin. God loves you. He loves you so much that He wants to make your life and your eternity better than ever. To talk to God you have to talk to His Son Jesus Christ. You can pray a simple prayer. You don't have to clean up first or make yourself presentable, just talk to Him. He really wants to hear from you and you can talk to Him just like you'd talk to a friend. Pray a prayer like...
Dear Jesus, I know I don't deserve to be loved or redeemed but I adore You because You said I could come and talk to you like this. I confess to You my sins. They've held me back and weighted me down for too long so I bring them to You and I leave them with You. Come into my life and save me I pray. Cleanse me of my past sins and dwell in my heart. Thank you Jesus for loving me and saving me and giving me new hope. I confess You now in Jesus name. AMEN
Congratulations! You're a Christian now! If you prayed that prayer or any sincere prayer of repentance and confession, according to the Bible, you're born again. You can now join the celebration of the believers and rejoice that you are on your way to Heaven.
